The brand ambassador of InstaForex, the Indian chess player Viswanathan Anand, took part in the second tournament of the Grand Chess Tour. The legendary Grandmaster won the rapid tournament and finished second in the overall score.
The Grand Chess Tour is an annual series of chess tournaments featuring the world’s best grandmasters. This year, Poland has joined the event for the first time.
The second tournament of the Grand Chess Tour series was held in Warsaw in May 17-24. It consisted of a rapid and blitz tournament with a prize pool of $175,000.
Ten top chess players participated in the Warsaw Grand Chess tour. Indian chess legend Viswanathan Anand from India, Polish chess champion Jan Krzysztof Duda, Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian, and American top chess player of Italian origin Fabiano Caruana were the major contenders for the award.
Notably, Viswanathan Anand became the brand ambassadorof international fintech company InstaForex in 2019. He had already claimed many titles and awards by that time. Anand had been crowned the 15th World Chess Champion and had won the Chess Oscar six times.
In the second tournament of the Grand Chess Tour, the Indian chess legend demonstrated a lightning reaction and impeccable effective technique.
Despite a huge age gap between Viswanathan Anand and his young opponents, he held the lead for three days. Consequently, the Grandmaster secured a convincing victory in a rapid tournament.
Vishy Anand played several brilliant games in Warsaw. In the fifth round, he managed to beat very strong Grandmaster Levon Aronian in only 24 moves. Moreover, Anand scored an impressive third-round win over Anton Korobov from Ukraine.
Eventually, Viswanathan Anand finished second sharing the spot with Aronian. Polish Grandmaster Jan Krzysztof Duda won the second tournament of the Grand Chess Tour.
Anand did not take part in official chess tournaments for a long time. Taking this fact into account, it is safe to say that he still keeps his standards high. Anand’s second place in the overall score and his victory in the rapid tournament are considered excellent results that inspire confidence in his future achievements. We are convinced that the InstaForex brand ambassador will experience even more remarkable success!
